Robert Gerardi

Robert H. (Bob) Gerardi is the Senior Advisor to the Director of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), United States Department of Treasury.  Since joining FinCEN in 2014, Bob has focused on regulatory and strategic policy matters.  During 2015, he was the Acting Associate Director for FinCEN’s Policy Division.  Bob is also a former federal prosecutor and a 19-year veteran of the United States Department of Justice.  From 2006-2012, he was a Resident Legal Advisor assigned to U.S. Embassies in Eastern Europe and South Asia.  During his tenure overseas, Bob encouraged the passage of new anti-money laundering and anti-terrorism finance laws. He also provided advice and training to foreign governments and their regional partners to foster greater compliance with FATF requirements.  In addition, Bob promoted improvements to foreign FIUs (now Egmont members).
