Biography

Violette Palion is an Anti-Money Laundering Subject Matter expert extensive experience in the AML Compliance Programme Management & Remediation, KYC & CDD/EDD (including KYC Risk Modeling) and Sanctions / OFAC.   Violette specializes  in AML Transactions Monitoring Operations and Systems, including AML Monitoring for Correspondent Banking, Trade Finance, Institutional Banking and Capital Markets.

Violette is the founder, Senior Manager and Chief Operating Officer of Vesta Compliance Solutions, LLC, an AML Compliance and Risk Modeling specialist firm with offices in New York and Utrecht, Netherlands and the co-chair of the largest Compliance Peer Group (www.ComplianceRoundtable.org), she organizes 8 plus Compliance Peer Roundtable learning & sharing complimentary workshops each year in New York, London and Singapore.

Violette works extensively with US and international Financial Institutions, she specializes in Operational & Functional Integrations of Mantas AML and AML-C, Actimize SAM and SAM-C, SAS and Detica-Norkom.  Violette also specializes in Alert & Case Management Operations and designed and developed several Case Management Systems including Digital Harbor (which was purchased by Detica -Norkom and became the Detica Case Management System)  and SYFACT (which was purchased by NICE Actimize and was integrated into what is known today as Actimize ERCM.  In  2006 Violette developed the first quantitative & qualitative AML Transactions Monitoring Risk Based Coverage Mapping Methodology by aligning Monitoring Scenarios, Models and Rules with Institution’s AML Risks, Risk Factors & Red Flags and incorporating Product Risk and Transactional Risk.

Most recently Violette worked with eleven (11) leading Banks to develop the NYDFS Rule 504 Annual Programme Certification Methodology – a 12 Step Certification Process which she shared with members of 40+ Financial Institutions at the January 31, 2017 Compliance Peer Roundtable hosted by BNP Paribas.

The 12 Step Certification Methodology was extremely well received and it now serves as Rule 504  process reference & roadmap for numerous FIs.
