Biography

Steven Blair is the Financial/Cyber Crimes Investigator for the Boston Police Department. He has been a Boston Police Officer for 35 years and a Detective for 27 years. He has been assigned to the Boston Police Special Investigations Unit for the last 15 years. He is also an Adjutant Professor at Bay State College, teaching White Collar Crime. Detective Blair lectures to government agencies and the private sector. As part of his duties in the Special Investigations Unit, he handles high profile crimes that occur in the City of Boston. His expertise is in financial crimes. He handles close to a thousand cases a year with most ending up in criminal court. The cases are divided up between District Courts, Superior Courts and Federal Courts. Detective Blair works jointly with several different Federal Agencies on Cyber Crimes and high dollar loss cases. Detective Blair assisted in the implementing of the White Collar Crime Center. The United States Attorney’s Office has awarded Detective Blair The Investigative Achievement Award, The Investigative Award and The Public Service Award. He also was awarded International Association of Financial Crimes Law Enforcement Officer Of The Year, The Boston Police Detective’s Benevolent Society’s Detective Of The Year Award, The Boston Police Department’s William Taylor Award (Actions above and beyond the call of duty) and The Boston Police Department’s Medal Of Honor.
